Coaching

When our lives are in crisis, we know to get help. But when we're "getting by", or "just fine" we often struggle alone. You deserve to feel like you're thriving in your life. We all do. Coaching is a partnership that looks honestly at where you are, where and who you'd like to be, and what is standing in the way. We all have the capacity to move forward on that journey — to embrace our unique gifts, become aware of our blocks, and create new potentials in our lives.  And we don't have to navigate the terrain alone.

What is coaching about?

I partner with smart, thoughtful, professionals to dismantle blocks and inspire growth to move forward in their lives and work.  From creative projects, to business goals, to personal relationships, I offer compassionate, constructive support to help clients shift from frustration and stagnation to clarity and fulfillment. I am constantly inspired by the possibilities that arise when we dare to question our habitual assumptions and view life as an ongoing opportunity for learning, growth, and discovery.

 

Do I have to be creative to work with you? You don’t have to think of yourself as creative, but I do. I love working with creative professionals, but I also work with lawyers, students, retirees, and business owners.  I believe that we are all creative in one way or another. We are making up this life as we go along, and the more we believe that we have the ability to create our lives, the more freedom we give ourselves to live a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. Helping clients to obtain that sense of agency and empowerment within the circumstances of their lives is a primary goal of my coaching. 

 

Do I have to have a mindfulness practice? Or know what that means? No — you just need to be open to the possibility of thinking differently than you do at this moment.  Mindfulness is simply the practice of noticing what is happening right now. If we aren’t aware of what we are thinking, feeling, and doing, then we can’t change those behaviors. Gaining greater access to that awareness is the power of mindfulness practice. Facilitating access to that awareness is also the job of a coach. Through my own mindfulness practice, I bring a calm awareness to my clients, and by combining coaching techniques with mindfulness practices, I can also empower clients with the tools to deepen their own sense of presence. And if you want to go deeper into mindfulness and meditation, I can integrate that into our coaching.
